Biographical Info
ATFS was founded by John and Nancy Bray, who are committed to enhancing science education and literacy in the Eastern Region of North Carolina. Their passion and investments into A Time for Science over the years have now firmly established this organization as a resource to the community as an independent nonprofit. Although the organization is now operating under a vibrant Board of Directors and dedicated staff, John and Nancy’s motto remains, and that is to get people “Experiencing Nature- Doing Science-Having Fun”.
Greenville Science Center
Our nationally-recognized science and technology learning center and museum is located in the heart of Greenville. Here, we offer exhibits, science camps & fairs, and e-mentoring programs to ignite kids’ interest to engage in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and arts (STEAM) in educational and fun ways!
Grifton Nature & Science Center
Our Grifton location features 380 acres of Bray Hollow Conservancy lands in southern Pitt County and offers regular kayaking, 5K’s and trail runs, as well as astronomy programs at the on-site Chia-yu Li Planetarium, nature classes, and much more!
